I am here to educate purchasers to make good decisions that will help reduce waste and make the world a much better place. The definition of sustainability is: “the ability to continue or be continued for a long time and the use of natural products and energy in a way that does not harm the environment.” When we think of sustainability in these terms, it tends to move us to observe things a little differently. This is the crux of the topic, applying a long term, greener outlook on businesses that will help future generations live more comfortably.
The next time we buy a product, we have to pay attention to the following things, and what I will call the 4 W’s: What is it made of? What is the quality level? Where was it made? Who made this? After we’ve answered these 4 questions, we know whether we have found a good product or not. We will know if this is something that will be thrown out in two weeks or used for many years to come.
Some of the topics that will be discussed: Fast Fashion and where this actually makes sense. The importance of “quality over quantity.” How products are made and how to make sure they are produced ethically. There will also be discussions on how to actually run a green business and what that means to you. We will also talk about who is doing good and how we can follow in their footsteps.
